Antique Original Black Ceramic Emile Galle cat Signed Nancy E.Galle, glass eyes

Description

This beautiful black cat was hand crafted, painted and signed by Emile Galle. Emile Galle was a French artist who worked with glass and pottery and created amazing examples of Art Nouveau sculptures.
This cat is created in his unique style with the hallmark figures of a white heart shaped painted around the nose and its green glass eyes have slits of black for irises. The bottom is signed E. Galle Nancy. Nancy refers to the town in France where Galle had a studio. Galle reached international fame after exhibiting at the 1889 Paris Exhibition.
The cat stands 14.5 inches tall and its widest part is 7 inches across.
It is a beautiful example in amazing condition.
