    American Lithographic Co., New York, Naval painter Reuterdahl, a veteran of the Spanish-American War and Vera Cruz, created this striking poster to depict Allied unity on the waves against the feared enemy during the early stages of U.S. participation in the global conflict. The U.S. Navy sailor not surprisingly towers over his international representatives from Japan, France, Great Britain, Russia, and Italy.
